Brent Cross earned a name for himself in the 1990s, thanks in large part to his wonderfully thick love tool. Brent performed in many films (as in dozens of them). His cleancut appearance was a nice contrast to how naughty he could be in action. His movies were varied, with films like Dirty White Guys to Men in Blue and Rope Tricks. Born in 1975, he appears to have retired from the business sometime around 1999. It's reported that he also used the stage names Brant Cross and Hunter Cross. Brent Cross also happens to be the name of a large mall outside of London.

Just wondering, and if anyone knows, it would be you? Why do these guys use different professional names during their careers?
I think part of the constantly-changing names thing is sheer sloth on the part of the studio. They misspell a name, and never think to correct it. (Hence the "Brant Cross" name.)
Sometimes, guys don't like the name the studio or picked out for them, and use a different name until they find one they like. Other actors think, "The fan base sees me as a top. I convinced this director to cast me as a bottom. To make sure people watch, I will use a different name so that fans don't ignore my video based on my name."
Some guys change their names because they are trying to hide. Remember Paul Morgan? He did straight film, tran film, bi film, everything. He didn't want gay fans to know he was doing trans or straight porn. He didn't want straight porn studios knowing he was doing gay porn. (Sometimes actresses would recognize him and refuse to work with him, assuming all gay men have HIV. With a different name, he could say, "Oh, that's some other guy. We look a lot alike...")
As for Brent Cross...... poor Brent, I think his vanilla looks is what doomed him. The "Age of the Gay Porn Tattoo" was dawning, where everyone had to have massive, ugly tats covering half their body. Everyone had to have too much muscle, too much body hair, and smoke a cigar. And Brent wasn't like that. And his career shut down overnight.
Great question Bob!
The only thing I'd add to Tim's great response would be that sometimes they try names until they finally get a role that clicks with the public. Once that happens, they have brand recogniition and usually stay with that name. But like Tim said about different names for different audiences (gay vs straight porn or even vanilla vs kinky smut).
It also sometimes has to do with studios trying to exercise control. Some studios, like Colt, make a big deal out of "owning" a nme, and threaten an actor with hassles if they perform elsewhere using a name made famous at that stuio.
Thank you guys! After proofing this, I guess I'm gushing and rambling here a bit, but I hope you;ll bear with me.
First of all, I just find it so annoying when you're looking for someone, only to realize that you're looking under a different name that doesn't exist for that studio.
Today, with the business being as global and well distributed as it is, it's hard to believe that when these guys sign up with a studio, especially if it's one of the biggies, that the studio has no idea of their background, previous films and history. Likewise for an actor to say, "Oh that wasn't me" and get away with it seems just as unlikely. I guess it's all part of the game of loop holes and looking the other way.
I suppose when it comes to any of these hot, handsome, horny, hunks who are willing and able to do this, I'm simply fascinated in a star struck kind of way. [Let's face it, we all have someone we've seen on film or in magazines who we're just GAGA over! …we do don't we? Or is it just me?]
Pete Kuzak for one, is someone that makes me melt. That face! I'm happy to hear that he's happy and well making his living as a successful landscaper, and has even done some cable TV shows using a different name. [Who knows? Maybe the joke's on me. He might be the biggest, most conceited prick we could meet. I hope not, and I like to think not…] From what I can find, Jack Radcliffe is now a realtor in California, using a different name. Jack's my original fantasy man! Good God, do I think he's hot!!! I've recently learned that Steve Kelso is now managing The Den, a well known gay bar/club right here in lovely little NJ! [He's on Facebook] We were recently invited there for the Miss Den Drag Pageant and I'm really hoping to meet [or at least see]him there! I'm so sounding like a little high school girl, aren't I? ...I know, but I can't help it.] But to me, this is exciting stuff! Steve Kelso [as you must know] was one of the top Colt Men, and just imagine how famous [here in the gay world] that really is! It's like some 50 something woman meeting Tom Selleck! Ugh! I think I'm getting wet...
To wrap it up, I guess there's always somewhat of a stigma attached to have been "in the business". Time moves on, and for those of them who are fortunate enough to have seen their end coming, I guess they've moved on into the mainstream, and would rather not be reminded of their alter ego identities. But to all these guys, I'll always be a fan. I commend them for their bravery to bear it all and for sharing that most intimate part of themselves. Where ever they are, and for WHO ever they are--I wish them well.
Thanks Steve for all the informative stuff you share here, and to all you guys who take a moment to comment. Love ya's!
